Why yes, that is a mouse trap! Cat loves playing with glitter balls, she'll chase them around for hours, but give her a real live mouse and nothing. I've not seen nor heard them chasing it, though I have seen droppings and the cleaning guy saw it running across the bedroom. So yay. I'm officially creeped out. We got a new patio table and chairs today since our porch neighbors have abandoned us. We opted for the more colorful slingbacks as the chairs that "matched" the table would have cost nearly three times as much. Now we just need some warmer weather so we can enjoy it! This is what I call an excellent Easter dinner. Burgers and sweet potatoes cooked to perfection on the grill and homemade fruit salad. Yum! And bonus, we got to eat outside in the beautiful weather! And since I forgot to take a picture yesterday, you get a bonus: my first flowers of the year. Not my best photo, but I'm excited about the subject material. The boy and I went to Chicago for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. I had to be there that week for a tradeshow, so the time seemed right to go down early and have a little fun. We took the train down from Milwaukee so we didn't have to worry about dealing with a car. Parking in Chicago is ri-donk-ulous! We got there a little early, so we had to wait. Luckily it was nice outside, so we took advantage! Since it was cloudy and chilly on the morning of my birthday, we headed to Navy Pier first. Waiting for the bus Then as the sky cleared up, we made our way to Millennium Park. Got to have a picture of the bean. Broke out the orb for a bit of fun. The next couple days weren't as nice weather wise, so we ended up not going up to the top of Sears Willis Tower. We did get a chance to tour the submarine at the Museum of Science and Industry. Angel Food Lemon Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Yum. Easy recipe: Mix Angel Food cake mix with can of lemon pie filling and cup of shredded coconut. Spread in 15x10x1 pan (I didn't have that size, so mine were a little thinner) and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Top with your favorite cream cheese frosting and sprinkle grated lemon peel to finish. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving. What a difference a month makes! It's not too pretty yet, but all the snow is gone and there is some green in there! Let's hope for some green on the trees next month.
