Organization area

I'm not entirely happy with it. I had to change some things from what I wanted due to some constraints (like stud placement), but overall I think it turned out OK. Now the boy should be happy there is a place for mail, at least.

Photo Display

I finally put up our wedding photos. I had a couple up around the condo, but I've been meaning to do this larger display with the Jenga pieces guest book and my bouquet. At least it will be done for our second anniversary in a couple months!

Dresser's New Life

We had this old dresser. It was kind of ugly. I thought about just getting rid of it, but then I had a thought. I need some more storage by my craft closet ... Maybe I can do something to fix this old dresser up... ... So I bought myself an electric sander and some new drawer pulls... ... And I raided our plentiful paint supply for the same paint I used on the craft closet and some primer and basic white... ... Then I got to work... ... And 4 or 5 hours later, I ended up with this... I kinda love it. If you like my photography (and many of you tell me you do), PLEASE leave comments on my pictures throughout this year. I don't know if I'll be able to continue without that encouragement. Also needed will be suggestions for photography subjects or locations. I'm always looking for ideas!

Organization Project - Bathroom Sink Cabinet

I was pretty proud of this one, so I just had to share. I used one of my free days over the holiday break to organize our bathroom. The worst offender was under the sink. I basically hadn't done anything with it since I moved in except throw more stuff in there. Does anyone else's cabinet in their bathroom look like this? Yes, this is what was actually under our sink. Awful right? Stuff was always falling out. Finally I just couldn't take it anymore. In addition to make some more space above the sink (not pictured because it didn't change too much), I did this: It makes me smile when I look at it now! Click on this picture to make it bigger and see what everything is if you're curious.

Custom Pot Rack

We have a lot of pots and pans. And we just got married, so we just got even more. Our cabinet where those pots and pans were stored was beginning to look a bit icky... We were running out of room and it was difficult to get things in and out. So I decided we needed a solution. Unfortunately, our kitchen is kinda tiny, so the options are limited. Doing some searching online, I found this idea . I thought it would be a great solution to hang the pots and pans in the cabinet. So I went to Amazon and ordered the suggested hardware and enlisted my dad for help over the Thanksgiving weekend. Cost: $44.66 (free shipping with Prime) That weekend arrived and we started planning and calculating and measuring. Then we noticed the rack I bought only had 6 hooks. You saw my cabinet. That's not even close to enough. So back online I went to see about ordering more hooks. That's when we discovered the nasty trick. Extra hooks cost $10 each ! If I wanted 4 more hooks, I'd end up...

My Craft Closet

A good way to start this blog is to talk a bit about my new craft closet. Which I'm totally loving and making good use of! It started out looking something like this: Note: I "stitched" 3 pictures together because I didn't have a wider lens on my camera for this picture. That's why it looks a little funky. This closet is in the spare bedroom (a.k.a. the chocolate room) and was just being used for miscellaneous storage. With my husband-to-be moving in, we needed to make better use of the spare room so we'd each have a work space of our own when needed. I was also getting tired of not having a good storage solution for all my (accumulating) craft stuff and having to work at the kitchen table. So I did some research on Pinterest and found a lot of ideas for turning a closet into a work space. Then the parents came for a visit and we went to a few stores looking at various closet solutions, seeing if anything would work. In the end, I decided to go w...
